Visiting the Castle
In Montsonís one finds a nice medieval environment, which invites to have pleasant walks over its cobblestone-covered streets, watching the perfectly preserved antique houses, and admiring the landscapes that in the distance, show us other castles of the zone. The amount of medieval castles and fortresses in the zone is quite significant, and the guided visits to the castles allow us to know the history of the so called "Castilla de Cataluńa" (Catalonia's Castilla).
The Castle of Montsonís belongs to the Route "Castles of LLeida: a Journey to the Past". Located right in front of Cal Xeco, it is a fantastic medieval ensemble with many original halls, furniture, weapons, a historical information museum, a collection of heraldic symbols, a great kitchen and a prison.
